Programs Overview


Looking for help for yourself or your family? DSS provides programs to meet Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) goals.

MED-Connect provides medical assistance to employed individuals with disabilities. Enrollees can earn up to $75,000 per year or qualify for coverage.

The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) helps eligible individuals and families afford the cost of food at supermarkets and grocery stores.


The Rental Assistance Program is the major state-supported program for assisting very-low-income families to afford decent in the private market.


This program was designed by DSS experts and social workers to give caregivers a variety of services on so they can have support in caring for their loved ones at home.

Temporary Assistance

 

The Temporary Assistance program provides services and benefits to needy families. It was designed to help families all over the state.

Prevention Services

 

This program provides shelter services, including support staff, emergency food and living expenses for victims of household abuse.

Protective Services

 

This program is designed to safeguard people 60 years and older from physical, mental and emotional abuse, and/or exploitation.

Winter Heating Program

 

On behalf of eligible households, the Winter Heating Program pays for most of available heating sources such as oil or natural gas.
